In creating this image, I wanted to make a strong statement in order to protest knitwear’s modern industrious processes and educate how I believe it should remain naturally crafted.
The glue factory location complemented my textural aesthetic well with its many ridges, rust and greenery, adding three-dimensional layers to my work. I shot from the ground up and positioned myself far away to highlight the dramatic comparison of the huge structure to the model with the obscuring perspective. This signifies how fast fashion has taken over and is squashing the higher quality, slow fashion enthusiasts.

My image’s desaturated look was created with a filter on the Sony FX30 video camera which removes vibrancy and lowers contrast for a softer and less punchy look, I like this effect as it highlights how cold and heartless industrialization is. My model's cold and shielding pose reinforces this and signifies this location as a place of discomfort and discontent.
I wanted to reflect these emotions due to my own personal feelings of how my rural town is contrasted by industrial machines and the deteriorating glue factory has stood as an eyesore over the beautiful canal since my childhood.
